Never shade the truth. Our continued existence depends on our credibility with the client. Misstating or exaggerating titles, spans, education, salary, etc. will be discovered and will disqualify you from further consideration.
Tell us about weaknesses in your career. There are no perfect candidates. Tell us about it in a straightforward manner so that we can present your credentials effectively.
Always let us know if you are not interested in a position or if you have any serious concerns about it. Do not let us proceed in promoting you unless you feel that you have a genuine interest.
Be a source. Allow us to call on you periodically for referrals. We will, of course, keep your name in confidence when contacting any referral you may give.
